CARBINE. Cal. 38-55. S# 924406. Bbl 20". Model 1894 saddle ring carbine manufactured by Winchester in 1923. Standard markings with Winchester's 2 line address and the caliber designation on the left side of the barrel. Blued finish with plain wood straight grip buttstock and forend. Ivory beaded blade front sight with a dovetailed Lyman No. 6 rear sight that has had no sight groove cut into it. CONDITION: metal components retain fair amounts of their original blue finish, exhibiting wear and thinning overall that show through to gray and brown patinas and some mild surface oxidation. Bright bore, exhibiting some light pitting and strong rifling throughout. Stock and handguard exhibit some scattered marks and minor impressions from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. (23-2295/MLW). CURIO. $1,000-1,500.
